Licensure requirements

Licensing requirements for the profession of psychology vary from state to state. Understanding specific requirements as you are applying for licensure can be confusing and overwhelming. To help, the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) has developed PSY|Book, an online resource tool detailing each state’s licensure requirements as well as how states compare to one another. PSY|Book data is collected through a survey completed by each of ASPPB’s Member Boards and questions pertain to topics including education, supervised experience, exams, fees, renewals, continuing education/continuing professional development and other pertinent information about psychology licensure requirements.

Reporting is available online at http://psybook.asppb.org/. Users can search information about licensure requirements for psychologists, psychological associates, school psychologists and behavior analysts for each state. Email us at asppb@asppb.org with any questions!
